The Hawkesbury River

Flowing through the heart of New South Wales, the Hawkesbury River — known to the Traditional Custodians, the Dharug and Darkinjung peoples, as Dyarubbin — holds deep cultural and spiritual significance. Framed by sandstone cliffs and native bushland, it’s one of Australia’s most scenic waterways.

Just 45 minutes north of Sydney, the Hawkesbury offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by national parks and charming riverside communities such as Brooklyn, Dangar Island, and Bar Point. The landscape has much to offer; explore all the local adventures and activities below!
